Blithfield Sailing Club welcomes new members. Day permits are available at £10 if you want to try us out before you join. The Club caters for:-

Recreational Sailing

There is plenty of room for cruising and if you are new to the sport training is available. The club owns several training dinghies, - excellent craft for introducing complete beginners to sailing.

Sailboards

Sailboards are encouraged, with the open waters of the reservoir allowing exciting sailing in windier conditions. Some training boards are available.

Racing

Racing is run throughout the year and features both class racing for Osprey, RS fleet, Merlin Rocket, Laser, Phantom, and a General Handicap fleet, including catamarans (for boats above PN 864). The racing caters for a wide range of abilities - a Personal Handicap series assists the less experienced whilst the class racing and regular Open Meetings offer competition at the very highest level.

Winter Sailing

Blithfield offers Winter membership at £64 per boat, valid from 1st November to 31st March, for those wishing to sail inland during the cold weather.

Facilities

Our modern purpose built clubhouse includes good changing facilities and showers with food and refreshments available on most sailing days. Our comfortable bar gives a good view of the sailing area and is a great place for meeting (and making!) friends after sailing. Some social events are organised which are popular with our members.

Safety

This is taken seriously at the club, with a safety team on the water during sailing, and safety boat training featuring in our programme.

Children

The club encourages families, children are welcome in the clubhouse and regular training is provided for juniors in Optimist and Topper dinghies. There is also a Junior Race Series for those able to sail a course.
