About Blithfield Reservoir Blithfield is a large reservoir owned by the South Staffs Water PLC, situated approximately 4 miles North of Rugeley in Staffordshire. The reservoir is divided roughly in half by a causeway. One side is a nature reserve and only fishing is allowed; the other side has both fishing and sailing. Sailing is allowed on Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am until one hour before sunset. No powerboats are allowed other than safety craft. As with all reservoirs, the
water level drops during the summer months, but as we
sail at the dam end of the water, this doesn't cause a
problem. We have been lucky this winter and have not lost
any sailing days due to ice in recent years. |
