This years Annual dinner and awards presentation evening was held on Saturday 13th March and was another great success on the Social calendar. It was decided to hold the event at the club and make use of our great facilities rather than 'eating out', and (most) of the House Committee were able to partake in the culinary feast, supplied and served by external chefs. The attendance on the night was 44 just short of the maximum for the Dry area of the Clubhouse but nice and cosy.
This year there were two new Silverware trophies handed out, one for the new Wednesday afternoon 1600 Pursuit race, instigated by our Principal of Training Peter Slater and taken home by Doug Rankin and the other was a new RCMY trophy suggested by the new RCMY Fleet captain, Alan Skitt, for the most promising and up and coming knob twiddler on the remote control box and joystick, which turned out to be Ian Gethin. For all the other trophy winners please visit the Website for the definitive list.
At the end of the evening there were a few trophies not collected for a number of reasons, but one being leaving it too late to order your tickets for the evening, winning a trophy does not guarantee you a place on the night , unlike Royaume-Uni at Eurovision , so if you missed out, you must try harder next year.
Our thanks and appreciation go out to the Vice Commodore and the House Committee for organising another successful event on the social calendar.
The Winter Series prizes will be awarded at the end of the final race of the season on Sunday 20th March.
