Welcome
Blithfield Reservoir is situated in some of
Staffordshires most beautiful countryside. The 790 acre
reservoir was opened in 1952 and much of the surrounding
woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Our
sailing club offers at least 120 acres of clean water,
180 for open meetings and 300 during the winter months.
Complete beginners, both junior and adult, are equally
catered for along with experienced dinghy
racers and sailboarders.
Blithfield offers a comprehensive training
programme and has excellent fleet
racing. Your
are appreciated!

2010 Midsummer Regatta photos in the gallery.
What a windy weekend! Matt and Paul won the
Founders Cup in a Merlin. The youngest helm to
qualify was Tom Dunne who put in an outstanding
effort in his 4.7 - he was one of the 30 boats
that raced over the weekend. Not a single bottle
boat survived the extreme conditions with all
craft either inverted or dismasted! The juniors
made their own fun on and off the water (although
without sails or masts!) The Saturday evening
made up for the lack of sailing with a excellent
hog roast and plenty of socialising, the party
continued with the inter-fleet boules competition,
won by the Merlin Rockets with the Female-All-Stars
in a close second.(Y&Y report here) Full results here. |
