The club has now opened a SUP paddleboard section after successful negotiation with our Landlords, South Staffs Water.Members can paddle board on all days that access to the water is allowed in the club lease, ie Wed, Thur, Sat, Sun and all Bank Holidays, from sunrise to 1 hour before sunset.

 

Day tickets for non-members are not available.

 

New members must attend a brief safety induction organised by the SUP fleet captain, prior to launching on the reservoir for the first time.See below for contact details of the club SUP fleet captain to get in touch and additional information.

 

Safety on the water is the clubs top priority above evertyhing else.So when there is no formal safety crew on duty (signified by the absence of the club flag flying above the OD box), all members including SUPs MUST adhere to the club Buddy System Policy (see governance page)All members must read them , sign them and return the form to be filed in the office, prior to participating is Buddy Sailing/SUPing on the reservoir.

 

The SUP section has a dedicated Blithfield SUP WhatsApp group, where SUP members can co ordinate SUP activities and generally chat about all things SUPing.

The club has 2off SUP boards (Mistral and Decathlon NitWit) which members can borrow 'free of charge'by booking out a board in the red Club Boat Hire folder on the club bar, on a first come first served basis.

 

These are covered by the club insurance, but members using their own SUP boards must have their own 3rd party insurance for a minimum of £3M.It is recommended that all SUP members join the British SUP Association , which includes insurance whilst on the water at the club or elsewhere.
