Service Description

RYA - Learn to Wingsurf (Beginners) (3 Hours)  Wingsurf & Wingfoil – Teaching Progression Sessions – sequential sessions (no shortcuts) and most likely will require practise prior to the next stage. **Session 1 - RYA Learn to Wingsurf Course – Beginner - introduction to kit, basic wing handling, sail across the wind, basic turnaround, safety aspects. Session 2 – RYA Improve Your Wingsurf -Improver- make progress upwind & downwind, holding power into the gybe, first tacks, switch stance & pumping. Session 3 – RYA Wingfoil, First Flights – Intermediate - foil kit, safety, launch & land, sail the small board off foil, first flights (the airborne photo snapshot) Session 4 – RYA Wingfoil, Sustained Flights – Advanced - control flight longer, upwind/downwind S’s, control wing power & board height, first gybe entries. Session 5 – Performance Flights Coaching   - Advanced – Gybing etc etc AM slot 09.30 to 12.30, PM slot 13.00 to 16.00 ** Winging Course 1 - Learn to Wingsurf Overview This introductory course gives the foundations of wingsurfing in a fun and supportive environment. No prior experience is needed, just enthusiasm to get on the water and try something new. The course is split into two key parts: flying the wing ashore and then getting afloat to put it into practice. By the end, you will have the essential skills to harness the power of the wing, balance on the board, and sail across the wind. You will also learn how to gybe and return to your starting point with confidence. What you’ll learn Ashore - Learn about the Equipment then practice Wing Care & Basic Controls Understand how to convert wind power into forward motion Afloat – Learn Self Rescue, Sailing Across the Wind Introduction to a Basic Turn, to turnaround and return to your start point. * Wing & Board Handling during recovery by power boat. 3 hour course - Max 4 people per course. Please arrive 20 mins prior to start to allow time to Check In & change. Prerequisite: Confident in the water , ideally swim 25m, stand from kneeling with hands above your head! Youths – min 15 years old What to Bring: An old pair of trainers, or wetsuit shoes Suitable clothing for over a wetsuit for standing outside in. A towel & swimwear for beneath a wetsuit. Your own wetsuit– sorry we don’t provide these ( full legs, spring/autumn 3mm+ neoprene, summer 2mm+ neoprene) Lunch & Drink (limited catering) What we provide: A Certificate Card where applicable Wingsurfing Kit Safety/Coach Boats Buoyancy Aid
